We host public cuppings once a month in our Coffee Lab.  Feel free to stop by and taste through some of our offerings.

Manual Brewing Class | Seminar and Tasting

Learn how to brew better coffee at home at DOMA Coffee Roasting Company. We’ll show you how to brew coffee with a variety of manual brewing methods – French Press, Melita, Kalita, Chemex, Aeropress – while covering some coffee brewing concepts that you’ll be able to apply to any other coffee brewer. Attendees will receive a free ½ pound of coffee for attending the class along with a list of recipes, and an exclusive discount on select brewing equipment; attendees can expect the class to run about two hours with a maximum class size of ten people.

Latte Art Class | Seminar and Workshop

This workshop has brief lecture on basic milk science followed by a hands-on approach focusing on the contrast, texture, symmetry, balance, and definition of various designs- Monk’s Head, Heart, Tulip, and Rosetta- when pouring latte art. Attendees should have some basic barista experience and should already be working on their own latte art prior to attending the class to get the most out of the information presented. This class can be expected to run about two hours with a maximum class size of four people.

Advanced Espresso Class | Seminar and Workshop

This workshop will focus on a hands-on approach to various factors in extraction in relation to roast density over a few different roast levels and how flavor is affected; several approaches to different grinders and tamping techniques that can be used in a bar setting will be covered as well. Attendees should have experience as a barista, have a strong familiarity with the basics of espresso extraction, and feel comfortable dialing-in a grinder. This class can be expected to run about two hours with a maximum class size of four people.

 Seed to Cup | Lecture

This lecture will focus on how coffee makes its journey from producing countries to consuming countries, how coffee is processed, how processing affects flavor, and the challenges of sustainability sourcing coffee.  This lecture will last about an hour and will be followed by a public cupping so attendees will have a chance to connect the information presented in the lecture with various coffees.
