I am so happy that the advertising industry recognizes the importance of product packaging that is recycled, compostable, and letter pressed with soy based inks.
Our efforts in sourcing packaging, continuing to offer unique and creative design and staying on the leading edge of sustainable, functional packaging continues to set us apart from the others.

It’s what is inside that really counts, great coffee, but if we can win an award or 5 along the way we will do that too.
Great packaging on the outside, great coffee on the inside.

Thank you so much to the creative minds who work with us; Chris Dreyer of Dreyer Press for his creative illustration and printing talent and Shelly Croswhite of Crowberry Co, for her creative graphic design.  It is exciting work that we love to do and we could not have accomplished this with out you. Kudos to you both.

The Chronic on sale Wednesday only !!!!

April 18th, 2011

OK, here it is.  Our nod to the neo-neoclassical sub-culture innuendo of the new millenium.  There is just too much coincidence here that we couldn’t ignore.

The Chronic is a blend of coffees from our producer partners in Central and South America.  It is 100% Certified Organic (yes, certified!), Fair Trade and roasted to perfection right here at DOMA with Bob Marley playing on the turntable.  It is a slightly darker roast which, not suprisingly, finishes at a temperature of 420°F on our Loring Smartroast.

Looking at the calendar earlier this month, we noticed that this Wednesday is 4.20.2011.  Clearly, we needed to have a sale, so this is it…

This Wednesday, you can purchase a bag of the Chronic online, or in person at the roastery for the amazing low price of $10.  Unlike the dime bag from the 60′s, this hand letterpressed, recyclable/compostable kraft bag will contain a full pound of The Chronic.  Fresh roasted and ready for you to grind up and enjoy.

SALE begins at 12:01 AM on 4.20.2011 (online) and 7:30am-4pm at the roastery.

di Tazza

February 14th, 2011

Just a few miles outside of Portland, Oregon sits the little town of Camas, Washington. This semi-rural community on the outskirts of the big city is home to a wonderful Italian pastry cafe called di Tazza, where the owner makes all of the pastries, pies, cakes, and paninis from scratch. , The cafe recently relocated to 2011 SE 192 Ave. Suite 101, bringing with it the coffee bar, the stools, tables and chairs, and the gelato and pastry cases. Everything moved, even the loyal customers. In fact, they gained quite a few more customers. The community of Camas embraces their little slice of Italiana, and the two-hour grand opening on Thursday, February 10 hosted over 200 people. DOMA had the opportunity to meet with the loyal customers of di Tazza and spend some time eating, drinking, and making great coffee with the cafe owner/operator, Dana, and her amazing crew. If you’re in the area, stop by and say hi to the di Tazza peeps, and try the tiramisu. Thanks to Dana and her crew, and to the people of Camas for welcoming DOMA into your community!

Coffee Review

  • Doma Coffee Roasting

    Post Falls, Idaho

  • Costa Rica Las Lajas Natural

Roast: Medium Review Date: February 2011
Origin: Alajuela growing region, central Costa Rica. Price: $10.90/12 ounces

Blind Assessment: A richly balanced cup. Notes of sweet orange and floral-toned herb (coriander?) in the aroma. Softly bright acidity, lightly syrupy mouthfeel. In the cup flavor leans toward black cherry and grapy dessert wine. Richness carries deep into the finish, as does flavor.

Thanks Coffee Review, we couldn’t have said it better. To read the complete article, go to www.coffeereview.com.
