Whether you use a simple fliter cone and hot water kettle (our favorite method), or a fancy automatic home coffee maker, drip coffee can provide an excellent, clean cup of coffee with minimal effort. Remember a few things
- Grind beans right before you brew for maximum aroma. Use 2 tablespoons per 8 oz. of water (use more or less to suit your taste).
- Use fresh water between 195-200°F (just off the boil). If you have an automatic coffee maker, this is controlled by the thermostat in your machine. If the water is not hot enough, your coffee will taste sour.
- Optimal brewing time should be about four minutes. If using a pour-over drip filter cone, pour slowly.
- Enjoy.
